QUARTET GAIA Quartet GAIA is a string quartet composed of four players including violinist Jung Ji-hye, Choi Hae-sung, and violinist Kim Sung-eun, and cellist Park Eun-ju who joined at Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra after finishing their studies and musical activities in the U.S., France, Switzerland, Italy, and other areas around the world. Since the foundation in 2009, the quartet has performed at broadcasting media and different sizes of concert halls. The musical group, recently, was awarded special prize at ARTSYLVIA chamber music audition. Quartet GAIA, which is open-minded to all possible diversity including each member\’s different characters and growing backgrounds, has continuously played Bach\’s Art of the Fugue at 2-time regular concerts every year for the first time as a domestic string quartet and presented hardly heard repertories of Penderecki, Stravinsky, Villa-Lobos, etc. as well as freshly reinterpreted well-known traditional string quartet music to be highly acclaimed.
