This is popular art. ■ Show the art world full of imagination under the theme of going toward popular art beyond pop art Sejong Center will hold the exhibition <This is Popular Art> to show the art world full of imagination under the theme of \’Going Toward Popular Art Beyond Pop Art\’ during the period of June 2 (Saturday) to July 1 (Sunday), 2012. This exhibition will be participated by 40 artists staying active at home and abroad to present the recent trend of Korean pop art and its essence. The Korean audience might be familiar with the exhibition of pop art as they had already been introduced several times. This exhibition, however, will shed light on how the Korean pop art has gotten, expanded and evolved into the general public as well as present three sections regarding the future proceeding prospect. Throughout the exhibition the audience could understand that pop art has evolved into popular art of Korea beyond pop art in terms of art historical meaning and coexisted with popular culture.
