줄거리 :  가난한 과부(한은진)의 딸 점순(최은희)는 돈 때문에 김 좌수집에 민며느리로 팔려간다. 점순의 시어머니(황정순)은 점순을 하인보다도 심하게 부려먹는다. 점순을 호되게 시집살이시키던 시어머니는 점순을 아예 집에서 쫓아낸다. 점순은 갈비뼈에 뇌종이 생겨 약을 먹지 않으면 죽을 위기에 처한다. 코흘리개 어린 신랑 복만은 집에서 돈을 훔쳐 약값을 대준다. 이를 안 시어머니는 점순네 집을 찾아와 당장 그 돈을 갚으라고 야단법석을 떤다. 가진 것 없는 점순 모녀는 살던 집을 팔아 돈을 마련한다. 점순 모녀가 떠나던 날, 잘못을 뉘우친 시어머니가 복만과 함께 점순을 찾아와 사과를 구하고 함께 집으로 돌아가자고 한다.

SYNOPSIS : A poor widow's daughter is taken into a rich family as a future daughter-in-law. Her mother-in-law is so talkative that she leads a tough life. But her little husband loves her very much and also her father-in-law is very generous. One day she is kicked out of the house by the mother-in-law. After a while she returns home by virtue of her husband's cunning wits and father-in-law's soft conciliation.
