공연개요
Byuksa Dance Company was organized to inherit the spirit of the late Jeong Jae-man to preserve and inherit the Byeoksa dance, along with branches of each province centered on the main office of Seoul.Byuksachum refers to a dance passed down from the late Han Seong-jun, who compiled various dances in Korea today, and developed around Seoul, Gyeonggi, and Chungcheong. Then, the dance has been expanded as his granddaughter, Han Young-sook inherited it. Byuksa is Han Young-sook’s pen name, but as the dance of Han Seong-jun, her grandfather, is considered as the origin of Byuksa dance, Han Seong-jun was designated as the first Byuksa and Han Young-sook as the second Byuksa. After that, Jeong Jae-man, a disciple of Han Young-sook, was handed down the title of Byuksa from Han, and is striving to inherit and develop Byuksa-style dance as the third Byuksa, establishing practical skills and theories at the same time. After the sudden death of Jeong Jae-man in 2014, the Byuksa Dance Academy changed its name to Byuksa Dance for the first time in 25 years. and his son, Jeong Yong-jin as the fourth Byuksa, with his disciples in unison keep the tradition of Byuksa alive. The Byuksa Jeong Jae-Man Dance Preservation Society is the only association founded by his son and disciples to inherit and develop the master’s dance after Jeong Jae-man passed away, the holder of Seungmu (Monk’s Dance), the National Intangible Cultural Heritage No. 27. Currently, more than 100 members, along with 72 certified trainees and six branches including Seoul, are making efforts to preserve the master’s dance and spirit together. This organization aims to establish the dance of Jeong Jae-man who inherited, expanded, and thrived the Byuksa-style dance by inheriting the Han Young-sook’s pen name, Byuksa, and to preserve the Byuksa-style dance. Now, the Byuksa-style dance continues its legitimacy for four generations from Han Seong-jun, Han Young-sook, Jeong Jae-man, down to Jeong Yong-jin, and is outstretching across the country with its origin in Seoul, Gyeonggi, and Chungcheong regions.
